Operation Autumn Leaves Removal at King James' Almshouses
It will make the pathways much safer for our residents to walk between their accommodation and the main block which houses the laundry, lounge and library.

Who this task will support
King James' Almshouses (The Hospital of King James)
We provide independent living accommodation for poorer people of Gateshead, historically under the auspices of a Master - the Vicar of Gateshead, appointed by the Bishop of Durham - and a board of trustees
Please note that this community mission has been cancelled.
The communal grounds are covered in leaves, which is proving a slip hazard for senior residents. Help is needed to sweep them up. We’ve done this task before and it’s very satisfying to know that we can easily make a difference and make life easier and safer for the residents!
How are you getting there?

Wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, psychiatrist, runner - not necessarily in that order!
Unfortunately due to last night’s snow, ongoing snow showers and low temperatures, it won’t be possible to clear the leaves as planned. Hopefully we’ll reschedule soon. Stay warm!
