Date and time
10:00 - 15:00Joining the fantastic team at Sholing Valleys Nature Reserve for their Sunday Conservation session which will be Tree Planting.
Come in and join us for our monthly Sunday task day on the last Sunday of the month. We even provide a free lunch to the volunteers. - We are hoping to get the delivery of our little tree whips supplied by the Woodland Trust. We will be planting them along our dead hedge area and around the reserve. - Copse work - Our copse is lovely. It is a part of young woodland in the middle of a wildflower area. There's a lot of this woodland along the Shoreburs greenway. It is a hiding place for deer during the day, and feeds many animals. But if we did not control it, there wouldn't be any wild flowers surrounding it. Succession causes brambles to grow, followed by trees. We need to make sure that species that rely on grasslands are not pushed out. If you want to know more, ask us about our management plan.
There's also the option of litter picking: The less litter there is the less likely people are to drop it!
The reserve is run by our wonderful team of volunteers. We would not be able to manage without your help, and every act makes the site better. We appreciate all of you.
Our Study Centre has toilets that will be open for use.
Our tasks are always open to non-members, but if you would like to help support Sholing Valleys financially and become a member, it's very easy to join. Just follow the link below: https://sholingvalleyslnr.wixsite.com/sholing/support-us
