๐Ÿ† Barking Food Forest is the #1 commuity growing garden in Barking & Dagenham, with an ambitious and bold vision for the future that includes a new Japanese water garden, pavillion, irrigation system and outdoor kitchen.

๐Ÿ‘‰ You have to see it to believe it, come and meet Nikhil, Laurelle and the incredible team of volunteers to help finish building the new greenhouse - providing more food growing space for local families.

๐Ÿงค What Weโ€™ll Do

  • levelling the greenhouse floor

  • constructing raised vegetable beds

  • gravelling the greenhouse pathway (shovelling / wheelbarrow-ing)

No experience needed! All tools and guidance will be provided on the day.

๐Ÿ•• Timings

  • 5pm - meet by the greenhouse - just inside the pedestrian entrance on the corner of Fielders Crescent and Riplegate walk

  • 5 - 5.05pm - welcome & briefing

  • 5.05 - 5.55pm - task time

  • 5:55 โ€“ 6pm โ€“ wrap-up and high fives

  • 6pm โ€“ finish

Barking Food Forest is undergoing a massive programme of ambitious and bold improvements to offer the community a real oasis of green, peace and calm amongst the concrete jungle of Barkign Riverside.

New bathroom, outdoor kitchen, irrigation system, Japanese water garden , pavillion and greenhouse are just some of th emany planned improvements

With your help, the garden will be ready to host even more outdoor activities: forest schools, school visits, planting, parties, animal visits, yoga, mindfulness, art workshops and much, much more! Weโ€™ll be returning over the winter to help with more missions
