I had the honour of leading the GG Haringey crew this week, meeting the gang at the leisure centre ready for our fabulous task ahead. Senay brought along a friend, GG newbie Martha – earning them both some red laces!
After a quick warm up on the grass outside it was time to begin our quick loop around to the library next door. We ran our kilometre loop in record time, meaning we had five or so minutes to fill whilst waiting for Laura. So ofcourse this meant burpees. We did a quick conditioning circuit to keep everyone warm and build some lower-body and core strength. A lunge-squat complex followed by burpees and an ab complex.
We grabbed the tools and walked back across the road to the library. Today's main task was to take up all the roots and ready the ground for grass. Side tasks included litter picking and tree-arch pruning.
Everybody did an incredible job and within 40 minutes cleared the top half of ground. Shout out to Emily for recently smashing a sub-4 marathon in Edinburgh. Give her a cheer!
Don't forget about the GG Olympics on Saturday and Race the Neighbour on 2 July.
