Tonight’s task was meant to be Locke Park but Anne called to cancel just before the set-off time because of the weather. So a last minute change of task was required, plogging on the way up to Penny Pie Park. Thankfully GG Barnsley always has back-up equipment ready; gloves and purple rubbish bags from the BLP that can be left by the side of bins. It was a nice steady uphill on the way to the park with many stop-offs for sporadic picking.
‘The nuts and bolts of the operation’
Some interesting finds amongst the usual gubbins of wrappers, bottles and cans were about 20 dumped brass fence connecters and some large nuts and bolts. Upon arrival at Penny Pie the excellent exercise equipment with accompanying instructions and suggestions of repetitions were used. A circuit of all 4 pieces of equipment was completed before leaving the purple bags by the side of a bin on the road for collection. All that was left to do after this was to run back down the hill to Glasshouse to stretch off.
We’ll be up at Locke Park next week joining the team there.
