June 26, 2019
GoodGym's collaboration with Bexley Mencap was recognised by judges at the Bexley Volunteering Services Awards
Bexley GoodGym were nominated for an Inspirational Team Award at last night Bexley Voluntary Services Award ceremony at the Holiday Inn.
The judges cited the invaluable voluntary work members had completed in the last year at a range of different locations helping out at Youth & Community Centres, Care Homes, Charity Shops, and parks and gardens, to name but a few.
The judges were particularly impressed at the way that Bexley GoodGym was open to all – not just regular runners and walkers - but all sections of the community, coming together to help out local groups and organisations.
Panel members also cited the ongoing contribution of Bexley Mencap’s Learning Disability members to the work of GoodGym.
