GoodGym & the Great Big Green Week
Swap for a greener future
May 30, 2025
The Great Big Green Week is back and happening from June 7th to 15th. The theme for 2025 is "Let's swap together for good," which continues the focus on minimising waste and making the most of what we have.
The Great Big Green Week 2025: Let's Swap Together for Good!
In just a few short years, the Great Big Green Week has blossomed into the UK’s largest celebration of community action for climate change and nature protection. With over half a million participants last year, 2025 is set to be even bigger, greener, and more impactful!
The theme for Great Big Green Week 2025 (June 7th - 15th) is "Let's swap together for good." This inspiring theme encourages us all to minimise waste and maximise the value of what we already have – whether it's by swapping clothes, books, skills, knowledge, or embracing the art of upcycling.
This theme resonates deeply with GoodGym's core mission. Every time we clear overgrown community gardens, transform neglected spaces, or help an older person repurpose items, we're inherently involved in "swapping" – swapping neglect for care, waste for resourcefulness, and isolation for connection. This Great Big Green Week, GoodGym will be highlighting and listing myriad sessions specifically focused on tasks that embody this spirit of "swapping," contributing to a more sustainable future.
