Empower yourself and others to Do Good, Get Fit in the New Year
December 27, 2024
Start your 2025 by joining GoodGym's TaskForce to grow a community providing practical help to important community projects in your area.
Promote positivity
Organise group sessions to support community organisations such as schools, churches, mosques, parks and foodbanks in your area. Your actions will create a movement of positive people doing more for your community this January.
Gain new skills
Connect with community projects and charity organisations to gain transferable skills that can be added to your CV, including community building, and volunteer management.
Support people’s goals
Help people make the most of their new year’s resolutions. As a GoodGymer who wants to get fitter or volunteer more you’ll play a vital role in supporting people to connect, do good and get fit together.
What is TaskForce?
TaskForce are volunteer community leaders who setup and support practical tasks and who build community.
As a TaskForce member you will:
- Organise and support sessions helping community projects.
- Welcome and invite new people into GoodGym
- Create reports for the website, social media and press.
- Build relationships with projects and community groups.

What’s the commitment?
Once you’re trained, we ask that TaskForce contribute to their area once every two months, either by organising a session or by doing one of the other things listed above. GoodGym can fit around your schedule. Most sessions happen outside working hours.
What you'll make happen
You’ll enable hundreds, maybe thousands of hours of support for projects you care about, this might be
- Shovelling compost in a school allotment to enable children to grow food
- Sorting donations at a food bank to make sure food can be distributed to those who need it
- Planting trees in a park to increase green space and biodiversity
How you'll change the world
- You will reduce mental distress and increase well-being of people in your area.
- You will enable hundreds of hours of voluntary support to your chosen community projects.
- You will improve the environment and biodiversity by helping green spaces.
