3 united against a divided garden
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.
- Saturday, 23rd of June 2018
On a glorious Saturday morning Jon, Danny and I met in South London to help Mrs E with her garden. It was a return visit for me but quite a bit had changed since I was last there almost a year ago. Mrs E’s neighbours in the flats below have staked a claim on parts of the shared garden so we were given strict instructions about which parts of the garden to tend to and which to leave alone. Jon did a great job of weeding the shared paths while Danny and I got to work pulling up the greenery that was growing around the frame of the old decking. While we worked we chatted about other missions that we’ve done, the upcoming volunteering at the British 10K and attempted a quick game of ‘guess the GoodGymer from a very brief description’. As we were finishing up Mrs E came to check on our work and told us how grateful she was for what we had achieved.
