Six of us met up at Manor Woods Valley, two of us arriving from Mud Dock in another attempt to restart our Saturday group runs (slightly thwarted this time by the Cafe being closed for a wedding!)
Our task today was to take shears and clear the area beneath the fruit trees so that it's easier to collect the fruit when it falls or is shaken out in a few weeks time.
The fruit will be sent for juicing and pasteurization, with much of it ending up in food banks and the remainder shared around the group volunteers.
By the end of the morning we had successfully cleared the whole area round the ancient pear tree (110 years old!) and got round many of the apple trees too.
