Alive and Cake-ing!
5 GoodGymers made their way to help the Friends of Tottenham Green in Haringey.

'Twas the night of Lockdown Eve, and five hardy Goodgymmers defied the cold to give the lovely Tottenham Green a pre-hibernation sprucing up.
In a classic case of Premature Celebration Syndrome, Kapil came promising cake. Juan and myself - who met him at Wood Green Station for our last run before new lockdown procedures came into effect - didn't have high hopes for the baked goods after he suggested the cake was in his backpack and he was planning to run with it strapped to his back. Our fears worsened once Kapil then proceeded to Kipchoge his way through a 5k.
Once at the Green, Sam and Nurjehan joined us and Laura from Friends of Tottenham Green had a few jobs ready for us. First we scooped up fallen leaves and then helped prepare some newly arranged beds, by turning the ground and then burying the aforementioned leaves for fertiliser.
Afterwards, we moved to the gardens outside the Bernie Grants Art Centre where we planted dozens of plants that had been rescued earlier in the day by Laura and her team. Particular highlights of this bit included Nurjehan digging up a potato and celebrating by planting what may or may have not been a stick.
A good hour's work under our belt, we tidied up and the time to inspect the cake was upon us. Reader, it was truly a Lockdown Eve miracle - the cake was mostly intact! We cut it into generous pieces and everyone grabbed a slice of the action.
Cake consumed and funtimes had, we said our see you soons and truly left hoping we can all see each other again before Christmas.
In the meantime, look after yourselves and keep an eye out. Hoping to have some essential tasks lined up in the next couple of weeks and I'm working on a fitness challenge that might be quite fun to while away the next month whilst we wait to run together again.
Much love <3
