We had a beautiful evening for our all ladies good gym (where are all the men???). After meeting at roll for the soul we ran south of the river, through Victoria Park – stopping to admire the hot air balloons – and up the steep hill to the allotments at Bedminster.
We met Laura there to help her get the community allotments ready for the growing season. The task involved digging over some vegetable beds, weeding and grass cutting at one of the plots. The digging was hard going, with really heavy clay soil sticking to our tools and trainers, but we all got stuck in and we dug over two beds. The weeders and grass cutters managed to clear another bed, and tidy up the plot.
We split into 2 groups on the way home, a faster group lead by Charlie who whizzed back to Roll for the Soul, and a group which stayed for a cup of tea and home made cake to watch the sunset over Bristol. We headed back to the centre at a good pace - helped by the fact most of it was downhill – and managed to get home before dark.
