Kat and Jo met up again at the early start of 0530 and armed with litter pickers we headed towards the beach. We decided to head to the west of South Parade Pier as this is where a lot of people go due to the current parking and food outlets. The weather hasn’t been as warm as previous weekends so the amount of litter was lower than before but there was still plenty to pick. We found the usual left overs from picnics and bbqs including broken glass, napkins, bottle tops and straws. We even removed some glass bottles and broken glass from a fire on the beach that was still going. The most interesting find today was a plastic figure without a head. On the way back we stopped briefly at Canoe Lake to remove any rubbish we could from there.
