Bad Apples in the Garden of Weedin’
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Wandsworth.
- Sunday, 4th of August 2019
On Sunday morning two trusty GoodGymers navigated the RideLondon crowds around Richmond Park to get to their mission site, the home of Mrs N in Roehampton Vale.
We got there to find a real Garden of Weedin’ but this trusty Adam and Eve had no time for apple picking, mainly because the garden was littered with rotten ones giving off quite a pungent bouquet that needed clearing and removing.
The other part of the task was to perform a hoe down - scraping the weeds from between the paving slabs to transform the unsightly patio areas and make them good as new.
We got to work, chatting all the while, as Mrs N provided water and had a go at some light weeding herself on the upper patio. It was perfect weather for a mission and everything went smoothly except trying to collect the waste in bottomless plastic bags. This was soon solved with some crafty knotting and we looked over our handiwork with pride.
