We welcomed back Daryl today who had been ill for the last few weeks, and it was great to have him back! Hope you start to regain your energy slowly Daryl, well done for getting yourself out and joining despite not feeling great. Same with Sarah, a trooper, who despite still not recovering fully from illness came to do some good! Sean also managed to escape after missing out for a while due to other commitments
This evening we headed to Bournemouth Foodbank and it was a first for Millie, Jenni and Sean. Ed soon had us sorting tins by date and type of food and then trying to find the right box to put it all in. Millie used her mechanical engineering degree to help put together some advertising boards and then got really stuck in by fixing the slide to a cabinet from the inside!
Jenni and Heather were in charge of one side of the storage shelves and Sean, Mark and Sarah were their competition on the other side of the shelving...Ithink it was a pretty even battle really. Especially after Mark offered himself to help with taking apart cardboard boxes and putting them in bag for recycling!
We got a lot done in a short amount of time, which was great. We headed back a slightly more tree covered route and were very grateful that the evening had cooled down quite a bit!
Next week marks our
2 year anniversary
and we'll be celebrating with some beach games and drinks! Come along and celebrate with us!
