I was a bit late having been distracted by a beautiful GoodGym-coloured moth flying right before my eyes and settling on the grass in front of me - we'll be looking out for more Cinnabar moths as apparently they love ragwort, one of the plants we've helped spread across the city!
A bit of an education learning the difference between wild raspberries and brambles to save the former and annihilate the latter, untangle the bindweed, stop the buttercup creeping and clear loads of lawn clippings that had been dumped in top of all of them! We explained our GoodGym forte is in clearing areas, we need some clear direction when something in the melee needs to be saved...
Excellent progress was made by three hardy GoodGymmers in the battle against the weeds and, at times, the rain as well as sanding the outside of the condemned building in preparation for a mural to be painted by a local artist.
Others were sanding the Nissen hut and then priming the metal, or painting in the dry inside but we're not put off by a bit of rain.
