Beware the devil's snare!
3 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Southampton.

On a dreary (and sporadically wet!) Sunday morning 3 goodgymers made their way to help out friends of peartree Green with one of their monthly conservation tasks.
Ecologist Phil told us all about our task for the morning, pulling and piling Virginia creeper Parthenocissus roots.
Being unfamiliar with Virginia Creeper we got to work and it soon reminded me of something out of Stranger Things or the devils snare in Harry Potter. at one point it seemed like i was sprouting tentacles!
The Virginia Creeper was particularly well entrenched and difficult to remove but very satisfying when long sections lifted away. Judy also helped raking back large sections of the area to help identify the creeper much easier.
Overall an enjoyable and satisfying task and we hope to join friends of peartree Green again soon.
