A rather miserable and moist evening for a spot of volunteering at the local park... but oh we did a fantastic job 👌
Firstly, we met at the Bridge House and discussed our favourite theme parks (why not?) and we really did have quite an exotic selection. We also welcomed brand-new-to-GG Bromley Laura!! 🔥💥👍 Lovely to have you join us!
Hannah finished her taskforce training on the train over as well so that was another reason to be happy :)
After a quick warm up, we made our way to Alexandra Recreation Ground for two tasks:
🌱 A nice little tidy up of the path around the bowling green was first on the agenda. Armed with shovels and hoes we sliced weeds and tufts of grass and bagged them to be composted.
✂️ We then snipped off some of the sticky-outy bits at the bottom of some trees (coppicing?!). These trimmings are going to be used to create a bug den - pretty neat!
We then made our way back, with some lunges (with holds), tricep dips, a wall sit and squats (and jumps) thrown in for good measure (and quads, triceps and calves).
GREAT WORK GANG
That was fantastic. Next week we'll be back with another task, supporting another fab local organisation. Here's the link. 👈
