Kash and Sevan were having a GoodGym tourism day and their adventures brought them to Southwark, specifically Dulwich to sort out donations for GROAD.
Andrea (founder of GROAD) had initially brought over five big tonne bags of shoes. She needed us to pair them using rubber bands she gave and using the shoe laces too. Usually, Sam would be able to do two bags within the hour and a half session, but she heard of the extra GoodGym help and brought more over.
As the visitors arrived, Sam told them of the task and offered them a drink from the bar upstairs. Sevan wanted an apple juice and Kash just a glass of water. After getting everyone's drinks and putting on the tunes, we started to sort out the shoes and paired them with rubber bands before separating them into bags for adults and bags for kids shoes.
As the session went on and we discovered more about each other, the general public came in to donate their unwanted goods. We had around seven different drop offs throughout the session and all these drop offs were eventually put in Changing Room 5 along with four tonne bags of paired shoes. We couldn't finish the last bag...one for next week.
As we left, those shoes with no pairs or were of low quality were thrown in the bin. π’
We finished off our Sunday afternoon with a coffee at D Village, a cafe in Dulwich Village to catch up on our lives and all things GoodGym.
It was great to meet Kash and Sevan! βΊοΈ You're always welcomed in Southwark and hope to see you soon! π¬

Sam, thanks for drinks, music and coffee π Very cool task, hopefully we'll see you again soon in Southwark - and will have enough rubber bands to smash all 5 bags next time!
It's my pleasure to host you and Sevan. It's pretty much like that every Sunday, a chilled out task. Taking the one hour and a half at your own leisure and a good way to end the weekend. Yes, next time we'll have enough rubber bands ;)
