This week 11 GoodGym-ers ran 4km to do a variety of tasks for the bowling green in Down Lane Park.
After a quick intro and warm up on the grass in front of the gym, we were off on our loop around the houses to stretch out the 500 meter run to the green. Louise and Omar kept me company at the front, whilst Rudge was our trusty back-marker. There were not enough of us with head torches, so you should all consider getting yourself one for next week. My stylish head piece was from Poundland and did alright.
We tried our best to avoid the big main road as much as possible, and did our traditional green cycle lane sprint down to the grass. Everyone was very speedy indeed.
We met Laura at the bowling green and split into smaller groups to tackle many tasks from vaccuming the outside walls to de-mousing the kitching. It was all hands on deck in preparation for the opening next week.
30 minutes later and it was time to put down our tools and step away, until next time. We quickly tidied up before getting on the floor for a plank war. A strong core makes for a stronger runner, so we followed this up with a plank challenge and a max dish hold (or dead bug). David and Chi smashed the plank-off, both tying first place with three minutes.
We then said our goodbyes and ran back to base for stretches and high fives.
