We were greeted by our wonderful hosts and hungrily got stuck in... to some very tasty lemon /pistachio cake, scones (with cream and jam!), and tea and coffee galore.
With our taste buds satisfied and our thirsts quenched we received our mission briefing and a brief history of the farm - it's hard to believe that 100 years ago you could board a flight from Cricklewood to Paris!
As a team we managed to get a huge amount done including:
• Stone chips shovelled and poured onto a grid path in the garden • Clearing ground of sunflowers, corn and weeds. • Constructing arches for apples • Mulching flower beds (putting compost on top). • Also… importantly...reunited Ella (Barnet’s new canine companion…) with her ball thanks to the courageous efforts of Damien and Rupesh.
Thanks everyone for coming and achieving so much this afternoon. See you all on Tuesday ☺
