Coffee ☕️ and Cake 🍰!!
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in York.
- Friday, 20th of January 2023
I arrived at Mr D's to be greeted by his wife who offered me a cup of coffee ☕️ as Mr D wasn't yet back from his morning errands. Mr D soon arrived and once I'd finished my drink (after a lovely chat with Mr D's wife) I went to get the delivery of wood pellets moved into Mr D's shed.
However, I discovered that Mr D's very helpful neighbour had unexpectedly come across and had moved the bags already! All that was left for me to do was help pick up and sweep up some rogue pellets from out of a split bag and tidy away some plastic.
I was offered a choice of pastry (which of course I couldn't refuse!) and had that with another cup of coffee and a lovely chat with Mr D and his wife. Coffee drunk and cake eaten I cycled off in the sunshine to find some lunch before going to my next mission later in the afternoon.
A very pleasant mission, even if I wasn't as helpful as I thought I would be!
