Cooking up a holiday spirit at the Surplus Feast
4 GoodGymers made their way to help the Greenwich Co-Operative Development Agency in Greenwich.
- Saturday, 7th of December 2019
- Led by Sarah Place
Last Saturday a fantastic group of GoodGym and other volunteers helped out GCDA at the Woolwich Winter Warmer. The idea behind the event is to use surplus food (food that was over-produced and would've otherwise been thrown out ) to serve-up delicious meals for the local community.
The Christmas soundtrack playing throughout got us all in the right mood and we sliced and grated vegetables, served up a variety of salads, a curry and pasta. We didn't leave until it was dark and the tent was taken down again (and we still got to enjoy a bit of the spectacle, see photos!). Many thanks to everyone who came!
