Cutting the task down to size!
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Thursday, 21st of March 2019
Anne and Rebecca ran through the local Purim festivities to help at a new mission location this morning.
They were greeted by Ms C, Mr & Mrs D's daughter and live in caretaker who showed them through to the garden. The beautiful view was sadly blocked by discarded trees that had thoughtlessly been cut down by a team of "professionals". In order to allow the couple to enjoy their garden again Anne and Rebecca got to work cutting the branches down to manageable pieces.
Aided by Ms C (and the friendly neighbour cat) they quickly filled two bins of garden waste. Thankfully not all of the plants had been ruined. The trio were able to salvage most of the willow branches so that Mrs D could grow a living fence. Even the large apple tree didn't go to waste with plans to use it as an arch once the excess branches had been removed.
Soon the garden was as good as new and the pair said there goodbyes to a very grateful family!
