5 GoodGymers made their way to help the Redbridge Mutual Aid FoodBank in Redbridge.
- Saturday, 18th of March 2023
- Led by Linda Sharman
Five of the best GGers +1 soon to be member came to Frenford Foodbank today.
A massive welcome to Kelly making her GG debut today, James suggested she shadow Linda to learn the ropes but Kelly didn't need much instruction and she must have made a huge difference as we were finished packing over 40 packages in record time today. My sincere apologies for not taking Kelly's photo before she left today...I really must get better at taking photos early on.
Delighted to see Pauline and her (yet to sign up to GG) friend again always good to have last minute additions, there can never be too many volunteers on this task.
The session started with Linda being accused of not being vigilant enough about sell by dates, this was clearly a wind up as Irfan (task owner) had definitely been informed about the meatballs, the out of date fish had clearly been donated since the last stock take. Irfan thinks he is soooo funny šš
Despite our super quick finish there is always room for improvement and while checking out a numbering issue Sharon came across one set of bags from a package in 3 different spots, that and an issue with having to move the bags out of the gym early led to some constructive conversations between Irfan and rest of the volunteers on how the numbering and trolley loading can be improved.
Below quote from Irfan after todays mission.
"Really appreciate what you and the guys do, amazing to think we are going from strength to strength even though we started at the start of Covid. God bless š«”"
