The group met at Valentines Park Run where our James C got his PB of 29:25, achieving his goal of running 5k in under 30 minutes. Well done James. 💪 It was then off to the cafe for breakfast as a little send off for Julia as it was her last Park Run before going off travelling for a few months. 🧳 Suitably fueled up we were off for the mission spending an hour in the lovely rose garden to count birds for the RSPB’s Big Garden Watch . 🦅 Sharon opted to do her counting in her garden at home so helped by taking photos for the report. Julia sensibly suggested that the rest of us each took a different section to do our twitching so with our charts and binoculars we were off spotting a surprising amount of different types of birds considering the small area. Jenny and I were also taking photos but were unable to capture the mischievous blue tits having a little dust fight in front of us. By far the best close ups came from Julia’s camera. We agreed it was nice to take the time to actually look at the birds, to notice what they were like and how they behaved but maybe another time do it in Summer. Thank you all for coming, I hope you’ve all warmed up by now.
