Episode V: GoodGym strikes back
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Sheffield.
- Saturday, 28th of October 2017
Following some hardcore missions to clear Mrs. M's garden in recent weeks, some enourmous piles of garden waste had built up and were taking over the yard. It would have made an impressive bonfire, but someone suggested that may breach Health & Safety guidelines, so Sheffield GoodGym black ops team were dispatched to tackle the situation. This involved cutting, chopping, snipping, sawing, snapping and ripping our way through the mountain of dead bushes, trees and leaves to reduce the bulk and bag it all up. There was some questionable sawing technique from Rapid Rachel and Karate-chopping Kim, but fortunately Kim is indestructible so no limbs were severed. Steady progress was made and the pile gradually reduced. Mrs. M. chipped in by holding open bags for Stoic Suze to fill with mulch, and we had a good old natter about motorbikes, favourite dance moves and near death experiences - classic pensioner chat really. We were all a bit surprised when we finally hit the bottom of the never ending pile and sealed the last bag, leaving a neatly swept and spacious yard. Mrs. M was hugely grateful as always, and is now excitedly planning what can be done to replant her newly cleared garden. Great job team!
