Exeter's first Mission Run: a really rubbish time!
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Exeter.
- Sunday, 10th of November 2019
Florence and Pete visited Mr C in Exeter today for EXETER'S FIRST MISSION RUN!
Both of us arrived sweaty and unsure what to expect, but it was a really rewarding experience on a lovely day in Exeter (the first for a long time).
We helped move household waste, recycling and glass from a top floor flat to help someone who is unfortunately struggling to get up and down stairs due to poor health. It took us around 40 minutes and by the time we left Mr C already had the mop out to start cleaning up after us. We helped to bag up rubbish and took everything out to the communal bin areas nearby, making sure to check we were taking the right things.
Both of us have completed a number of Group Runs since GoodGym launched in Exeter and have really enjoyed reading our run leader Klara's reports. Now we can understand how tricky it is to come up with a pun after each run...!
We look forward to receiving more Mission Run referrals in Exeter and will be sharing our success story on Tuesday at the next Group Run!
