Going Out On A Stem

Mr G had a shorter than usual shopping list for Sevan today. In fact he only had 6 labels tied together in the usual bundle, 3 ready meals, 2 types of veg and 1 bag of walnut halves.

The challenge for Sevan came from what wasn't on the list, milk and "something green". Apparently there was little bulk left to his favourite cavolo nero after it'd been steamed, so something more substantial was needed.

"2 pints of cows milk? Whole or semi?" - Sevan

"Whole. It'll probably do me good. Probably doesn't do the cows much good." - Mr G

The ready meals that Mr G wanted weren't available, so Sevan guessed at some suitable substitutions, then went to peruse the cabbage aisle as Mr G is a big fan of cabbagey things. Sevan didn't feel inspired by the savoy or the sweetheart and kale was out, so he decided to go out on a limb and buy some broccoli. Steamable and guaranteed not to shrivel down. Ideal for Mr G's purposes... if he liked broccoli.

Sevan had chosen (or guessed) wisely. Mr G thought broccoli was alright and would eat it. He was also happy with all the other groceries, even if he didn't get all of his usuals this week.
