Gold Dust
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Thursday, 16th of April 2020
I went for a walk on a sunny evening to complete a shopping mission from Mrs.N who is self isolating.
I received Mrs. N's shopping list via email which was rather extensive so I gave her a quick call before heading out to check which items were more of a priority as it was unlikely I'd be able to get everything on her list within the £20 limit. She was flexible and just asked me to get what I could within the limit but said flour was a priority if I could track some down.
I went to the large Tesco nearby and managed to get most of the items on Mrs. N's shopping list but alas the baking aisle looked like it had been ransacked - there was no flour to be found. I tried another 3 shops before giving up on the flour dream.
When dropping off the items I explained to Mrs. N that flour is like gold dust at the moment and that hopefully we'll be able to secure her some along with the remaining items on her list next time we help with her shopping. We had a quick chat about self isolating solo and Mrs. N said she was a little bored but otherwise well and in good spirits.
