Goodgym on Granstand
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Cardiff.
- Saturday, 1st of May 2021
One mild morning in May I met Mrs B. My mission: move her current wooden TV stand out of her living room, and move the new glass TV stand into place. Straightforward, it would seem.
The new stand had been on stand-by for eight weeks. Complicating matters was a power socket extension stuck tight to the old stand. Initial diagnosis suggested a mysterious, unbreakable forcefield was at work. Further inspection revealed the socket housing was latched onto two screws embedded in the wood and trapped snug under the lip of the top surface. With a little perseverance and a lot of wiggling, I prized it free.
Liberated, wooden TV stand was to be wisked away to raise funds for a worthy cause. The glass TV stand was promoted from prolonged purgatory to pride of place.
Mrs B was delighted with result and full of appreciation for Goodgym.
