Hacking a path in Hackney
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Sunday, 12th of May 2019
The plants obviously grow well around Hackney, as Mr H's garden was in need of a serious overhaul. Unfortunately, an injury has prevented him from being able to do any gardening over the past six months, and the plants have made the most of it and run wild. It's a beautiful garden but too overgrown for him to be able to use it. So braving the brambles, we hacked a path through from the back door to the shed. It was hard work, but we had lovely chats in the sunshine while we worked. Mr H was a very practical and welcoming host, and even repaired one of the tools we were using mid-mission. There's still a lot more work to do, but we felt good about making a start.
