Heading down a Slippery Slope
6 GoodGymers made their way to help the Friends of Rowntree Park in York.

When we arrived at Rowntree Park we had the choice of two tasks, sything or pulling up balsam along the beck. David opted for the sything whilst the other 5 of us started balsam pulling with Tay and Maddy moving to sything half way through. Leanne cleared a further away patch single handed (see before and after shot) while Paul and Laura tested how far down the steep banks they could get without falling in, using rakes and sticks to bring hard to get balsam closer. Luckily no-one ended up in the beck although a few of us got quite nettled along the way. It turns out balsam is quite slippy when you try and climb back up a steep slope covered in it! Most of us finished with a cool down under the fan in a cafe.
