I carrot believe it!
1 GoodGymer made their way to help the Food for Life Wales in Cardiff.

This pastTuesday, I ran to local vegan restaurant Anna -Loka, where Food for Life Wales were preparing to make meals for vulnerable people. During Covid 19, Food For Life Wales is feeding up to 1000 people daiIy door to door with free plant-based fresh meals. These people include low income families, elderly, self-isolators and vulnerable communities. They have also been delivering meals to hospitals, ambulance services and other health care facilities throughout South Wales.
But in order to do this, they need LOTS of volunteers to prep the veggies. When I got there, I donned safety gear (mask and gloves) right away. Kim the organiser introduced me to the task, as well as sat me down at one of the chopping stations - safely distanced from the 4 or so other volunteers. I chose peeling and chopping carrots for no other reason than they were closest, but I honestly didn't believe I'd get through a whole bag of carrots in one go. But when there's a will, there's a way - and just under 2 hours, I did! All 10kg of them. Or one bucket full in 'old money' ;-)
Food for Life Wales needs more help, whether it be with prepping veg for meals, or drivers to deliver the cooked meals in and around Cardiff. We're all in this together, so others are encouraged to contact them to help out.
