I just can't get you out of my shed
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Islington.
- Saturday, 2nd of June 2018
David and I met outside Mrs F's flat for a morning of heavy lifting. We had been told we needed to move a fridge freezer but when she said there was a chest of drawers which needed to go into the spare bedroom from her shed we decided to use that as a warmup.
It was quite a challenge manoeuvring the chest of drawers along Mrs F's narrow corridor but with a few pivots and a lot of pauses we managed to get it into the spare bedroom.
We then got to work on the fridge freezer. Getting it out to the collection point involved weighing a hedge down with bricks, cutting down some branches, and me realising that opening a gate was too challenging for me.
After that, moving another cupboard and some more boxes from Mrs F's shed into her spare bedroom felt very easy and she was very pleased with the result.
