It might have been freeeezzzziiinnng cold but 15 Goodgymers wrapped up (although one rebel wore shorts!!! Whattttt!) To meet at Wholefoods and do good tonight.

In our news there was talk of Goodgym Olympics...whose up for organising a team? Also discounted places for the big half can be had, if you are interested mail bighalf@goodgym.org. We mentioned triathlons and of course the January Challenge. We are so close to reaching our target but need to get our trainers on a few more times if we are gonna make it!! OH the SUSPENSE!!! SO where you can head to other group runs or perhaps let the taskforce know if you have an idea for a community mission - Don't forget there is an additional starter run this Sunday at Wholefoods too at 11am - great chance to add deeds and km's.

So back to tonight , our warm up saw us doing our own plank challenge RUNNING IN AND OUT OF the planks we were and then throwing our legs in the air like we just don't care!

But of course we do! So we got our stravas ready and found the stamina to run the 8km round trip tonight. The run took us along the river and into Ham where we met Ken from Thames Landscape Strategy (patron of the not for profit org is Sir David Attenborough did you know?) at St Andrews Church to plant 2000 bluebell bulbs. Ken was super prepared and all tools in place so we could get straight into the holes - Digging that is alongside the Church 'HOLY MOLY' how many bulbs Ken??? The bluebells are being planted to commemorate civilians and service men who died in the First World War.

We split into small groups and got to work on the land outside the church to create a sea of bluebells that will come to life next year. We tackled good and not so good soil, measuring the holes to ensure the perfect depth and double checking we were planting the bulbs the right way around. We were keen to get as many planted as possible as a gauntlet had been thrown down - Ken seemed pleased and confirmed we managed plant 500 bulbs between us. Native type too not the rogue Spanish one that has been stealing the lime light! Great job all!!

It was a steady 4km back to Wholefoods where we stretched and discussed this Sundays starter run - A task in the daylight in winter, what a luxury. Looking forward to seeing you then and we get to do a 10KM on the Monday too!! January Challenge just watch out eh!
