I felt it in my fingers I felt it in my toes, it was the Wet Wet Wettest day of the year. Despite the conditions, GoodGym Brent proved they were made of sturdy stuff, braving the elements for Super Monday aka the January blues take-over.

The task this week was the rejuvenation of The Vale, a local Community Centre's public gardens, which have become overgrown and neglected over time and we were not going to let them down! With a 2mile route ahead of us, we headed out the doors from Willesden SC.

Nothing was going to stand in our way, no weather report was gonna "Rain on our parade".

Under the cover of darkness we hustled through the streets, leaping puddles and dodging splashes. Upon our arrival we were greeted by the amazingly friendly and kind care-taker Saidi who, to our delight, presented us with brand new tools and new gloves..... which was very HANDY indeed!!! With our shiny new equipment we got stuck in straight away, weeding, pulling, pruning, plucking....WEEDidn't hold back, the team really seemed to "Dig" the task.

The route back home was a speedy affair which included a 1mile time test around Queens Park, with all of the team coming in under 6.50min, extremely impressive!!! What a club, full of such diamonds, with hearts that give in spades.

Join us next week for even more fun and do gooding in the Brilliant Brent.

Do Good, Feel Good, Inspire.
