ITV baby... shaking that grass
4 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Cardiff.
- Wednesday, 10th of January 2018
ITV Wales got in touch with Goodgym HQ interested in running a piece on the great work going on in Cardiff. “Great” said HQ, “we’ll send you our most attractive, charming and personable runners to help you out”. Emma and Nathan were contacted and met the ITV team at Heath Hospital. Having stretched, refilmed a stretch, done a retake of that stretch, they set off for a 2.5 mile run to West Cardiff.
They met Ben and Lucy waiting outside, went back round the corner to allow filming the meet up, and went back round the corner to do a retake of the rerun of the meetup… I’m sure it’ll all look great on the tele.
Having met Mr R and enjoyed a few brief moments in the warm, our runners ventured back out into the cold of the garden to do some general weeding, turning over former veg patches that hadn’t had any attention for years (so Mr R informed us) and collecting a few bits of stray litter. It was then Ben’s turn to be interviewed, and he did a great job promoting the work and impact of Goodgym.
Nick and Lindsay (our camera crew) felt they had all the footage they needed and were confident it could come together in a good piece – to be aired on Thursday, or Friday, provided nothing big happens in Wales over the next few days. Really hoping there’s no big sheep escape overnight to bump us down the schedule.
With the gardening finished, our runners headed inside to have a chat with Mr R in the warmth, who revealed his love of classic cars and how had even owned the Cadillac that once belonged to English Hollywood actress Diana Dors. The group took Ben’s rumbling stomach as a signal to set off home, and bidding farewell to Mr R, set off into the cold January evening.
