From the Cathall Leisure it's a 1.5k run to George Mason Lodge. Last night at 7pm, a group of 6 GoodGym runners jogged through the surprising evening sunshine after a day of heavy showers.  On arrival at the residential care home, we collected up the tools from Karen and headed to the back garden which has been left to grow for far too long. We weeded an area that a previous GoodGym team had cleared - the residents had already put in some nice new plants which we carefully avoided.  Then we continued along the same side of the garden slashing the nettles down, untangling brambles and pulling huge networks of roots from the soil. Residents from the home came out to watch and say hello, and baby fox spied on us from another corner of the garden.  After 40 minutes of hard labour we tidied the green waste and packed up the tools before taking a quick break to take on some fluids kindly provided by Karen and the team. Frank led a route back east through Bush Wood and then south around a piece of Wanstead Flats.  We return to Cathall Leisure having completed 5.4k in total.
