It's really great that there are people out there like the Brixton People's Kitchen. They collect unwanted food and turn it into a delightful treat for the local community. Tomorrow they are making a Christmas feast for kids who use the local nursery. This morning's GoodGym trio of Sophie, Pritesh and Hass met up with Sylvie and Rana of the BPK to collect unwanted fruit and veg from the New Covent Garden Market. There we were introduced to some very hospitable market traders who were only too willing to donate fruit and veg to the Brixton People's Kitchen.

The BPK had recently got hold of a bike trailer to help them transport food around. To avoid any KALE-AMITIES, Rana and myself secured it to one of the bikes, Sophie and Pritesh decided the bananas need to be SPLIT between then. We all bagged a few of the sweet potatoes too, it was great to see everyone CHIP in (I can hear you groaning, but wait there's more...)

One of the traders then bought out crates of food he wanted to donate. There wasn't MUSHROOM on the trailer so after scratching out CABBAGE HEADS we quickly rearranged the bike trailer to fit everything on securely. Rana managed to get hold of some herbs that would fit nicely in the remaining gaps on the trailer so in no THYME at all I made a temporary mudguard to protect the food. I was quite pleased that it didn't fall off in fact! If It did, I would just have to DILL with it. Another trader bought out a huge amount of tangerines which Sylvie said would be great to give away to the kids after their party. I thought Pritesh was taking the PITH when he loaded his rucksack full to the brim of the citrus delights.

We then cycled our way slowly to the BPK to deliver the Xmas goodies.

Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year,

Hassanta

Great to see Hassanta SPROUTing all these great puns. They are not CORNy at all and PEAS me a lot. It must have been a SQUASH to get them all in to the report, you PEPPERed them all over the place. My SAGE advise to you is to VEG out like a coach POTATO and by next year you'll be in MINT condition, old RUNNER BEAN!
