Kickstarting February with a city centre litter picking session
4 GoodGymers made their way 4.0km to help their local community in Derby.
- Tuesday, 1st of February 2022

Ashley and Pete were joined by official photographer for the evening Naomi for a litter picking session in the city centre of Derby.
We collected four bags of rubbish mostly made up of food packaging, cans and facemasks along with some tissues. Lots of bread and pastries were left for local wildlife to feast on and all the food remnants got us discussing what everyone was having for tea and what Pete was hoping for in his 'too good to go' end food waste bag he was collecting after the session.
We had compliments from some of the city goers who were appreciative of what we were doing whilst the group chatted about upcoming run events for 2022 including Round Sheffield Run and the Monsal Trail.
We walked tonight's session and travelled 4.5km in 93 minutes covering a route that included the Cathedral Quarter, city centre shopping area, the marketplace and Riverlights.
Thanks to everyone who came out tonight to help clean up the streets!
