Living on the edge
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Tuesday, 27th of June 2017
On a wet weekday evening, two Hackney GoodGym-ers were poached from their planned group run by GoodGym HQ, to take part in a local mission to help Ms V.
Meeting the Hackney GoodGym group at the E5 Bakehouse, Eva and Josie set off on their task, running in the other direction from the rest of the group. As the mission was based near a regular Hackney group task, Eva boldly declared that she knew the way. After a minor mis-turn en route, the pair arrived at the task and Ms V showed them her garden.
Ms V wanted the garden edging to create new planting areas, and using a handy rake as a measuring tool, the pair quickly edged new flower beds and turned the ground over, digging out the weeds. The garden smelled lovely, with wafts of honeysuckle and fresh mint rewarding them while they worked. After 45 minutes of digging, the garden looked great and the duo ran back to meet the rest of the Hackney GoodGym group as they finished their group run. Perfect timing!
