Marshalling in record time
4 GoodGymers made their way 1.0km to help their local community in Chelmsford.
- Sunday, 21st of October 2018
- Led by Laurie Glendinning
Rich, Jenny, David and Laurie went to help marshal at the Chelmsford Marathon.
We met our marshal group at a crisp 7.30am, and walked to our stations. After waiting tentatively, the runners came through quickly just after 9am. We caught a quick glance of Gerry and James G, and after cheering everyone else along we were done!
We decided to go for a Wetherspoons breakfast to congratulate ourselves on a hard morning of work. By chance we ran into Fay and Barry, getting a quick meal in before the runners turned up for post-marathon massages.
Thanks for coming along to help - the marathon couldn't go ahead without volunteers giving their Sunday mornings up. And of course, a huge congratulations to Gerry and James for taking part, and Ken at Abingdon Marathon!
See you on Wednesday,
Laurie
