I knew Mrs U from several previous shopping missions over the last year or so, and although I wasn’t in my Baywatch/GoodGym red today, I was ready.

Up to Mrs U’s I went, glad that the weather was holding out for me (having narrowly avoided a repeat of Noah’s Ark, only with groceries and not animals). Mrs U gave me her list, which we went through, and I confirmed the items she wanted (her list was dated from last week, but was still very relevant). Then I went up the road to get the goods.

A Lidl trip to a German supermarket later, and I’d gotten almost everything from the list. There was no vegetable oil in the shop though, and I knew rapeseed or olive wouldn’t peas Mrs U. I then tried Tesco, which also seemed to lack oil of the vegetable kind. Third time lucky, Sainsburys delivered with a bottle of the all important cooking fat, and I whizzed back to Mrs U’s. I was even lucky enough to see the chubby cat who lives in her block of flats (he normally scarpers off when he cheese me).

She was most peas-ed that I had managed to get everything she wanted, and then, I managed to get to my next destination before the deluge started again. A grape success, I’d say.
