Ooh ah just a lidl bit! Ooh ah a lidl bit more!
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.

Good mid morning GoodGymmers! I made my way to see the lovely Ms M, who was a little bit nervous about the whole process. She didn't want to open the door (understandable) but also was worried I would run off with her £20 and not get her any shopping. I was alerted to this ahead of time, so I let her know how long I thought it would take me and was on my way!
Ms M said she preferred Lidl to other shops. She had given me a long list and I was worried I would not be able to get anything with the £20 that she had given me. However, Ms M is clearly a savvier shopper than I am and as a result I was pleasantly surprised by how much I could get. The only item I couldn't find was apple cider vinegar, so I left that for the Tesco which was on the way back home.
On my way back, I was in a reflective mood, so I thought about repentance. It took me back to another community mission(about a year ago), where I met up with 3 other goodgymmers. One of them offered me half her sandwich, because I looked hungry. As it turns out, I have resting hungry face, and I wasn't really hungry at this point. However, since the sandwich looked so delicious, I took the bigger half and ate it. Dear M (the sandwich giver), I'm sorry I took advantage of our friendship, but the sandwich was really good so I have no regrets, and would probably do it again.
I wandered back to Ms M's, grateful that I had a backpack, because she had asked for a 6 pack of 2 litre bottles of water. I placed the shopping on the floor with the change and called out to her. She emptied out the shopping and I reminded her to disinfect everything again. She was really touched that we were doing this and tried to give me the change as a rewards/tip, which I declined. As I was leaving, she asked me I would come back and help her again, which given how nervous she was in the beginning made me really happy and was the best thank you, I could get.
I then ran off home to charge my phone, and grab some lunch before I headed off for the third and final mission of the day.
Stay safe goodgymmers!

This report has made my morning! Laughed out loud at the sandwich memory and very touched that you won Ms M's confidence. Lovely stuff
