Pick up sticks!
5 GoodGymers made their way 4.4km to help the Friends of Everton Park in Liverpool.

A merry band of five Goodgymers walked, cycled and ran to Everton Park to clear a wayward coppice of invasive trees. Walking 5 and half miles in total, Ema arrived just as Pauline wheeled down the hill having reccied the upper park in search of John of the Friends of Everton Park. Heetu, Matt and I ran that 1.7km to meet them as concern briefly built until John appeared upon high beside the Everton Tower. Armed with loppers, John set us to task. The purpose of our work was to reclaim a section of land that was becoming overgrown. Despite running 10km segments in the Manchester relay marathon just yesterday Pauline and Matt relentlessly worked up one side, Ema through the middle of the coppice and Heetu and I on the other. As the wind picked up and sporadic cold drops along with it, we doubled our efforts, branched out and cleared most of the coppice within a half hour. While we had to leaf some work to pick up again later in the year, it was a tremendous effort and thank you Heetu for educating me with today’s pun. We couldn’t be given any stick for the work we completed this evening, well done all
