Rain, rain , go away !
With our scheduled task cancelled at the last minute due to rain, we were lucky enough not to be under that particular cloud and re routed to Worthing Leisure Centre to carry out some weeding, tidying and pruning.
My trusty team comprising of Duncan,Belinda,[Lucy]Paul(/runners/lucy-booth)Barbara and John all reshaped their plans and turned up to give a helping hand.
Luckily no one fell through the gaps in the paving stones whilst, with a variety of different tools, weeds were scraped out by the team and later scooped up by Paul.
Lucy and Belinda did a great shop both pruning and tidying of dead foliage and accumulated huge piles to be composted. You can see how keen Barbara was to have her photo taken. At least I managed a realistic and complimentary photo rather than the one taken at St Botty butts recently !!
It wasn't a fig ment of my imagination
Yes there really was a plethora of figs growing in the garden . I hope they weren't forbidden because amidst the plenty we all reached in and picked one and took huge bountiful bites from the juicy flesh. YUM !
A clean sweep
I cant end this report without giving special mention to John who, last time I wrote the report was the designated chauffeur and didn't seem to have participated in the task ( of course this was not accurate! ) but this week was on chief sweeping duties, and what a great job he did :)
Duncan, Lucy together with Mr and Mrs R ended up with a cheeky meal together ( don't tell the social secretary) possibly ( or possibly not) trialling a new place for us to meet up on a Monday to socialise.
Next week we are over at Southwick again. Moving forward please keep Mondays free because we are now fully booked up until mid October!!
Have a great week and lets hope by Sunday evening we are celebrating the England women winning the Euros !
