Restoring the Pride to Queenie's Realm
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.
- Wednesday, 26th of July 2017
Beth and David met up on a damp Wednesday evening to tidy Ms K's garden in SE15.
Beth undertook this mission as part of the Southwark Group Run, so the clock was ticking to get back. Shears were needed to get started on the lawn as it was quite long and wet, the electric mower could only finish off after mandraulic intervention.
Lots of bindweed and the odd bramble were cut out and two large paper sacks were filled with trimmings and grass.
Queenie is the beautiful, fluffy haired cat, belonging to Ms K's next-door neighbour who's chickens provided a gentle aural accompaniment to the garden work. Her Majesty enjoyed the small jungle in her territory but would have to cope with less cover to hunt in now.
Ms K's garden is obviously very well loved with many beautiful flowers and plants. She was very grateful of the effort and so happy to see the lawn and weeds back under control.
