Westminster

Mission

Same same, but different.

1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Westminster.

A first time GoodGym shop for the friendly Mrs G - we ran through the easy to follow list and she then offered me her trolley and/or some reusable bags - I said I should be fine with the bags, albeit the trolley looked tempting.

Mrs G's shop of choice was the same Lidl near Warren Street that I frequent for another local beneficiary, although I was approaching it from a completely different direction. In spite of my (at least I thought) familiarity with the aisles, it proved an interesting challenge to find the range of quite different items that Mrs G had asked for.

I also got to experience the newly refurbished checkout area, which at least removed the previous chaotic queuing area, but still struggles to offer many options to pay by cash - having learned from last week I made a beeline for the sole human (but slightly harassed) operated check out, which proved the right choice.
