Seven years’ bed luck
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.
- Thursday, 13th of June 2019
Mrs J’s daughter needed help moving a bed upstairs so a hospital bed could be delivered for her mum to move back home.
We did a trial run up the stairs with the mattress before tackling the bed base. The mattress move went well, but unfortunately we knocked a beloved childhood froggy mirror off the wall whilst negotiating the bed base, uhoh! Thankfully Mrs J’s daughter was very understanding and we soon had the shards of mirror cleared up.
We enjoyed hearing tales about the tenacious centenarian that is Mrs J, as well as tales of the house in which Mrs J’s daughter had grown up... sorry again about that mirror!
Special kudos goes to Matt who’d had a solid 24 hours of do-gooding, having run with GoodGym Southwark the night before AND given blood that morning!

Great job with the furniture! Shame about the mirror but a job well done.
This has to be a contender for IPOTM!
